INEX Legends & Bandoleros Headline Weekend, NASCAR Upholds Terry Penalty

CONCORD, N.C. – INEX Legends and Bandoleros took over racing activities over the weekend and the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series took a weekend off for the third annual Pebble Pushers Car & Truck Show on the half-mile TriOval at Concord Motorsport Park.

Charles D. Strang, the NASCAR National Stock Car Racing Commissioner upheld NASCAR penalties imposed on Limited Late Model Mike Terry for actions on August 30, 2008.  The penalty of a one race suspension was upheld and the results of the event of September 13th were changed to reflect the suspension.  The adjusted results are available at http://www.concordmotorsportpark.com/091308Results.htm.  The adjusted J R D Earthworks Limited Late Model driver points are listed below.

Next weekend is jammed with racing activities as the Legends and Bandoleros finish up the season at Concord Motorsport Park with yet another double-header weekend.  Friday night pit gates open at 5:30 PM, practice starts at 6:10, heats and features should get underway approximately 7:45 PM.  Saturday, pit gates open at 9:15 AM, Practice starts at 10:10 and racing gets underway about 12:45 PM.  Grandstand admission Friday evening and Saturday morning is just $7.00 for adults with children age 11 and under admitted free with an attending adult.  Pit passes are $20 for adult with children age 15 and under $10.00.  All minors entering the paddock (pit) are must have a consent form signed by an attending parent or legal guardian.

Saturday Night on the half-mile is Town & Country Ford Night at the Races for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, The Interstate Electric Southeast Mini Cup Cars, the INEX Thunder Cars and the 1-on-1 Spectacular Spectator drags!  That’s SEVEN great racing events in one evening of racing.  The schedule shows 20 laps for the Tim Marburger Honda Fast & Furious Fours, the 1-on-1 Spectator Drags, 30 laps for the Coca-Cola Pure Stocks, 25 laps for the Interstate Electric Southeast Mini Cup Cars, 40 laps for the J R D Earthworks Limited Late Models, 25 laps for the INEX Thunder Cars and 75 laps for the Town & Country Ford Late Model Stock Cars.  Adult general admission is $12.00, children age 11 and under free with an attending adult. The grandstand box office opens at 5:30 PM.  Competitor registration opens at 2:00, pit gates at 2:30, practice at 3:30, drivers meeting at 5:15, qualifying time trials at 5:45, pre-race awards at 7:10 and racing at 7:30.  Pit passes are $25.00 for NASCAR members, $35 for non-members.

The 1-on-1 spectator drags are a 1-lap race between two cars from a standing start to the finish line with the first car across advancing to the next round in a single-elimination event.   The competing automobiles must be street-registered vehicles.  Registration is still open but limited to the first sixteen who sign up.  Call Larry Thomas at the office or e-mail lthomas@cocnordmotorsportpark.com for a form.
